1. You can make bowsers submarine appear in Dire Dire Docks.

All you have to do is collect a star that’s not Board Bowsers Sub (preferably the chest one). Then collect the star on bowsers sub. Now chose the 2nd star objective. Once you get to the spot where the ship is. Notice how the poles are not loaded in?

2. Move the camera around after you beat the final bowser stage. (On N64)

After Mario fly’s away and descends down to the front of Peaches castle, you can actually move the camera around just like in the end credits. All you have to do is have a second controller inserted into the console and when the cutscene plays, you just have to move the second controller’s stick around.

3. Collect coins from whomps without killing them.

Go to a whomp and get him to try to faceplant on Mario. Move out of the way as usual, But don’t ground pound the whomp. Just jump on his back until he cant give out any more coins.

4. You can clip through the secrete passage in Slip and Slide away.

Enter Cool Cool Mountain and jump through the chimney. Slide down the slide as normal but once you get to the part as shown in the picture, take the sharp right on the slide as normal then go straight (not down the path). You should be near the coins where the passage, keep going straight.

5. You can clip through the gate in Bob-orb battlefield

Enter Bob-omb battlefield and turn left to go under the bridge and then long-jump and you should get a bob-omb to chase you and when Mario lands, he should be able to go through the gate without using the ! switch on the gorund.

6. Mario can really move!

so in whomp’s fortress, there is a lot of coins and you do not need to worry about getting all of them just to make a star. Collect at least 84 coins before you go to the rotating island, then collect the last few coins for the 100 coin star and you will see Mario still moving on the platforms.

7. Get more distance by spinning

When you jump on a fly-guy or those plant like creatures, Mario will be able to spin and get some distance. However if you hold A while spinning, Mario’s arms will spin faster and you will get more distance out of it.

Select “Chip off whomp’s block” star in whomp’s fortress. Go to the top to defeat him. And just flip or jump when he is about to face-plant on you.
